It’s easy to be a critic of everything. And with facebook and being able to start up a blog about anything, it is especially easy to get in a mindset of thinking critically about everything, trying to come up with a facebook or blog post that is thought provoking. This isn’t bad, but it can get out of hand. You can become someone who sees the negative in everything and feels the need to comment on it.
Along with keeping an open mind, I also try and keep a closed mouth. (Obviously this doesn’t mean I stay quiet about everything, I’ve got a blog to prove that!) Like I mentioned in an earlier post, criticism can be pride in disguise. Being a critic about something makes you look like an expert. Care must be taken when criticising other people or you can start using that as a way to make yourself look better. Criticism should indeed be constructive, or why else give it?
